John Moran Educational - Trust Making financial awards to support the entry into higher education
John Moran Educational Trust to halt future awards.
Since its inception in 2003 The John Moran Educational Trust has supported fifty-four students in pursuit of their ambition to enter higher education. We have supported students studying at, among other institutions: Oxford, the Royal Northern College of Music, St Andrews University, Manchester University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Liverpool University, Liverpool John Moores University, Birmingham University, LIPA, Edgehill University, Sheffield University, Leeds University and Keele University. They have graduated in subjects as diverse as Astro Physics, Computer Sciences, The Performing Arts, Medicine, Veterinary Studies, Music and Musical Theatre, Chemical Engineering, Maths, English Literature, Law, Languages, Business Studies, Speech Therapy and Veterinary Studies. Most of our students were supported for the three years of their course but some received support for four, five, six and in one instance seven years. As trustees, we are pleased at what has been achieved over the fourteen-year period and have been delighted to meet a variety of interesting, talented, hard- working and motivated students. We are very proud of the achievements of all the students we have been able to help and are still in touch with many of them and watch with interest and a sense of pride as they continue to achieve success in their chosen careers as Doctors, Accountants, Musicians, Scientists, Teachers, Computer Specialists, Lawyers, Business people and Vets among others.

Unfortunately, as a small charity we no longer have sufficient funds to continue and as a result the awards given in 2017 will be the last. We would emphasise however that all commitments made to current students, including those from 2017 will be fulfilled.
